Bio
Stephan Bergh is an underground mine ventilation specialist and has worked within the mine ventilation engineering environment for more than a decade. Before joining Howden, Stephan held various managerial positions on mines. He is a fellow of the Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa and the current Vice-Chairman of the MVSSA Colliery branch. Amongst other accolades, Stephan was most recently the recipient of the MVSSA JP Rees Memorial prize for the best paper describing a Mine Ventilation System (2021) and was awarded the Association of Mine Managers Prize for his Technical Paper on Remotely Controlling Ventilation Devices at the AGM of the MVSSA in 2022.
