Bio
David Zheng joined Pittsburgh Mining Research Division (PMRD) 10 years ago and worked in dust control team, Health Hazards Prevention Branch ever since. Before joining PMRD, he got his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering and his M.S. & B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He has expertise in mine ventilation; gas, diesel particulate matter (DPM), and dust control; equipment and test facility design; and CFD simulation with ANSYS Fluent. After joining PMRD, He has involved in multiple research projects including CM face gas study, surface mine drill shroud dust control, canopy air curtain application in roof bolting machine, foam property study, and point-of-use ventilation system (POUVS) in COVID 19 prevention projects. He has published over 50 peer reviewed and conference papers and served as reviewer for more than 20 journals.
