Bio
W. P. Arnott develops instruments for dust measurements in mines and the atmosphere. He collaborates with colleagues in Mining Engineering at the University of Utah and at the University of Nevada Reno. His Ph.D. degree in Physics, 1988, is from Washington State University. He has performed air quality measurements in Mexico City and other large metropolitan areas, in addition to Nevada Gold mines. He received the Benjamin H. Y. Liu award from the American Association for Aerosol Research for accomplishments in aerosol instrumentation development. He holds three patents for instruments to measure aerosol mass concentration and optical properties, and has commercialized these instruments. He is a Professor in the Atmospheric Sciences Program, Department of Physics, at the University of Nevada Reno.
