Session Information

The procurement of small items or services is typically a straightforward process. On the other hand, the process complexifies for more extensive projects/budgets as it involves many parties, including different departments within a mine, the mine ventilation consulting firm, the mine ventilation equipment supplier, and, at times, the mining contractor.

The call for bids (or RFP, RFQ, or budgetary price request), which generally spans from 2 to 4 weeks, can prove time-consuming and frustrating: every party has expectations and interrogations that can be difficult to communicate in such a short time.

This short course aims to foster discussions between the different parties to improve their communications during a call for bids and ease the process. It is intended for anyone involved at any stage of a call of bids, whether preparing system specifications for quotation, managing a mine ventilation project, supplying mine ventilation equipment, or analyzing proposals, for example.
