Bio
Mr. Durieux has over 10 years experience in mine ventilation and cooling and is currently a Senior Engineer with Hatch Canada. Mr. Durieux's role has evolved from discipline engineer to leading overall project delivery for feasibility studies through to construction. Technically, Duran is proficient in mechanical engineering aspects related to ventilating and cooling mines. This includes the fundamentals of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics with applications such as refrigeration, heat transfer, heat exchangers, heat load analysis, psychrometry, piping and pump systems, and duct and fan systems. His project involvement spans South Africa, Ghana, Australia, USA, Canada, Portugal, Brazil, and Mexico.
Mr. Durieux completed a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering at the University of Johannesburg, a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as an advanced certificate in mine environmental control from the Chamber of Mines in South Africa. Mr. Durieux is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ontario, Canada.
