Bio
Steve is a geologist with NIOSH, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at the Pittsburgh Minind Research Division. His academic training is in geology and a geochemistry and he earned a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001. He is the co-inventor of the MDM gas content testing apparatus which won an R and D 100 award and a US patent. He continues to be active in methane control, ventilation in coal mines and REE geochemistry.
